Deepak Obhrai, M.P. and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and to the Minister of International Cooperation, was recently named as one of 35 most influential Indo-Canadians in Canada. The 35 Indo-Canadians were profiled in the book The Power List published by the India Abroad newspaper. According to the editors of The Power List, the book presents "profiles of those members of our community that, by dint of excellence, have first transcended, then erased, artificial boundaries and helped the process of assimilation, immersion, into the mainstream.
